An old non-historic, building was demolished to make way for the new Administration Building. It was important to the design team that the scale, and significant architectural features of the demolished building be incorporated in the new building without duplicating the actual design. The design was a collaborative effort, including input from the owner (Washington University), the city of St. Louis, the architect, and neighborhood committees. According to the architect, it was very important to be sensitive to the desires of those in the immediate neighborhood. |
